AIITC INTRODUCTION

The Albanian Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization (AIITC) was established in Tirana in 1996, with the official decree of Tirana Court Nr. 143, dated 04.03.1996.

The vision of AIITC is to become the centre for intellectual and spiritual empowerment in the Balkans. In realizing this vision, the multifold projects undertaken by AIITC are framed with a view to instigate the development of various initiatives ranging from scientific research to publication of academic papers and organizing cultural and social events.

Our modus operandi is set to organize scientific conferences and symposiums in order to promote academic research on issues related to art, culture, civilization, and Islamic tradition among Albanians. The Institute keeps regular contacts with governmental bodies, scientific academies and institutions, universities and cultural societies by creating a network of co-operators of the highest level in different fields. Our full-time administrative staff and scholars of different spheres, such as historians, academic researchers, theologians, artists, lecturers etc all engage continuously to further the goals of the institute. They make valuable contribution through study and examination of historical records and analysis of social and cultural trends, as well as through production of monographs and translation of old and new literature that convey the philosophy, and rich heritage of Islamic civilization
